Singing for over 15 years and teaching for the past 6 years
Roamy is trained
in all styles of Modern Music
as well as Musical Theatre, Jazz and Classical

I offer individual, private tuition in all aspects of singing, with lessons tailored to each individual's personal requirements and areas for development.

I offer teaching in all styles of modern music - specialising in Pop, Rock, Punk, Metal, Soul, RnB and Musical Theatre.

I firmly believe that a huge part of singing is about confidence.  I concentrate on teaching singers the correct breathing and vocal techniques to maximise their potential in their chosen field of singing - whether that be singing backing vocals for a rock band, performing in a Musical, fronting an acoustic act, singing in a choir or just simply for fun and to build confidence.

I teach all private singing lessons from home (Hove/Brighton border - 5 minutes walk from the Town Centre).  Here I have all the relevant teaching materials and equipment, combined with a quiet, disruption-free environment.

As each lesson is different, please feel free to contact me to discuss your individual requirements and how I can help.

*
I am Head of Music at Shana Goldman's Stage School, Hove, providing singing lessons for different age groups ranging from 5 to 18 and working with them towards Exams, Shows and Showcases.  I also offer private lessons to students, including coaching for West End auditions.

Since September 2007 I have been Vocal Tutor for the
BTEC Music Practice
at Central Sussex Sixth Form College in Haywards Heath.  I teach all vocal classes and Live Performance Workshops.  Together with the course leader, I wrote and designed the course content.

I am an Assessor for new students auditioning for Vocal courses at Brighton Institute of Modern Music.  I also cover classes when staff are away on tour, in the studio or off sick.

In addition to these, I have been providing private singing lessons to singers and bands since 2002 - including lead singers of bands, backing vocalists and solo singers. Since moving to Brighton in 2006 I have continued to offer lessons. Current students include:

- Acoustic singer/songwriter looking to improve technique and confidence
*
- Professional Musicians looking to improve confidence for backing and lead vocals*

- Professional Actors needing to improve singing skills for improvisation work
*
- Guitarist and classically trained Singer wanting to learn Rock and Metal techniques to sing in a Prog Metal band
*
- Children wanting to start at Stage School whose parents want them to have a bit of confidence building prior to joining
*
- Children and adults who have auditions coming up for professional productions
*
- A wide range of people who have never sung before but always wanted to see if they can.  Working on everything from Folk to Musical Theatre, for confidence building and personal enjoyment

Roamy is a dedicated teacher and covers as much as possible in her lessons focusing on areas where there are difficulties. She really has helped me to become more confident and have confidence in my singing.
Josie Blacknell, Drummer, Taught Mar 07 – present

I always turn to Roamy for a few lessons prior to my final exams, she gives great constructive criticism, and points out areas of improvement I wouldn't have noticed had I not gone to her. As a result from her help I achieved distinctions in my singing exams.
Hayley Williams, Singer and Songwriter, Taught Dec 06 – present

When I joined a band as lead singer I was lacking confidence, and the ability to consistently hit the right notes. I began having singing lessons with Roamy, and after my first lesson, my band mates noticed a marked improvement in my singing ability, and the confidence this gave me as a front man. Roamy lessons were relaxed and enjoyable, but I always went away from every session feeling as though I had achieved another goal, I would highly recommend her as a sing coach.
Julian Bellew, Lead Singer for Wrecking Season, Taught Mar 05 – Aug 06
